1. Products & updates
1.1
Windows 8
A number of end-user products have been updated so
that they load and run correctly on the desktop version of Windows 8
Consumer Preview. These include AnyLabels, Really Simple Labels, Really
Simple Barcodes, and The Barcode Desk. These products remain compatible
with WIndows XP/Vista/7.
Our other end-user applications will not be
updated at this time and the position will be considered prior to the
WIndows 8 is released.
1.2
Visual Studio 11 (beta)
The majority of our developers components have be
updated so that they provide a suitable experience in Visual Studio 11
(beta). In most cases this means that the sample projects included with
the packages have been modified so that they automatically update when
loaded into Visual Studio 2011 (beta). All Active Barcode Components,
dBarcode.NET components, dBarcode Developer Kts and Barcode Font Kit
components are now sutiable for use with Visual Studio 2005, 2008, 2010
and 11(beta). The dBarcode DLL range supports the same range plus Visual
Studio 2003.
1.3 Other
updates
All non-.Net products that support 2D barcodes have
been modified to improve stack use (courtesy of Visual Studio 2011),
significantly improving the speed of encoding.
All products supporting Aztec and QRCode symbols have
been modified so that the size of the symbol may be specified as the
number of columns (ie. elements across the symbol). For Aztec symbols this
effect only Full Range symbols.
Please note that our .NET components no
longer support the .NET Framework version 1.0 or 1.1. Only version 2.0 and
later are supported by the dBarcode.NET and Labels.NET components and by
the .NET components included in Font kits.
1.4 Affected
products
For one or more of the above reasons almost all
of our Windows products have been updated; so rather than reproduce
the list here please see the complete list of products
with their versions and release dates which is available
here.
Please note that our .NET components no longer support the .NET
Framework version 1.0 or 1.1. Only version 2.0 and later are supported by
the dBarcode.NET and Labels.NET components and by the .NET components
included in Font kits.
